The hike up the hill isn't too bad if you find the right trail.

This cache is to celebrate the new year. Just like last year, this isn't a real easy cache and it will take some time. Since I recently began my seventh decade I figured to put up a cache that required a little bit of strenuous hiking to prove I could still get up there. Today was very cold, but at least the wind wasn't blowing and I caught some nice fish through the ice. Happy new Year to all you cachers out there.

As usual I took the wrong trail. I took the one that was 1/4 mile past the pavement end. When I got to the top, I realized my folly. A 4.2 Mile hike and a hard hike up at the end. At the cache site, I could see many of the Big rock caches, that I have been to. I could also see the trail down, going in a straight line to the turnoff to the campground. I missed this two track road , when I was looking for a way up. Anyway, well worth the walk to the top. This is a challenge to No Body Important---Cowboy up and get this one. this is what caching is all about. Maybe that is why it took this long for me to Cowboy UP and do it. thanks for the fun-Huff-time-Huff- Red Desert Fox --Huff, Huff

Now this is caching. I rode over on the motorcycle before the hike today. What another great Wyoming summer morning for another great climb with a view. This cache let me do most of my favorite things. I went on a scenic motorcycle ride, I am caching, I am hiking/climbing for a view, and I have my music with me as I had the I-Pod along for the journey.

I parked in the paved pull-out not knowing if there were any trails. I climbed the just under 1000 gain in less than a mile. On top of the ridge I followed the trail to the top. There is a trail to the top that follows the westerly ridge all the way to the junction of the paved road & turn off to go to the boat ramp / campground area.

After soaking up the views from on top, I followed more of the trail down making it a little longer until I was on top of my ditch crossing down below. This made the journey just over 2 miles round trip.

Thanks again for the destination hike and hide. I would have not wanted to do it in the snow like the first two people did. I left a bottle of lens cleaner and took the clock. This is my cache #4604.

WOW! Great day to start caching in 2008. Tough cache. Thought I was in better shape than this, guess not. Beautiful day. First good day-off to get this cache. Must have not hit the right trail, it was a good climb. Glad the coords were right on or I never would have found it.That would've not been good. Great cache! FTF TN/LN
