Located North and East of Rock Springs, Wyoming on the wide open plains of the Red Desert.

Round Christmas tin measuring 9 3/4 x 3 1/2. Items include Hotshot hand warmers, Pink Peek Sheet, two book markers, cleansing lotion, log & pencil, knife, crayons, dinosaur, 1 doz. red roses, sea shells, designated driver pin, match surprise, lollipop Christmas ornament, jar of gold, golf tee, box cutter, IHS key chain and whistle.

Located on the plains close to Steamboat Mountain which was a Shoshone Indian holy site and the location of an ancient Native American buffalo jump hunt site. On the 42nd parallel which crosses the Continental Divide it is located at a dividing point between the Spanish Territory to the south, British territory to the northwest and French Territory to the northeast. The French Territory was sold to the U.S. in the Louisiana Purchase of 1803. Great Britain transferred the northwest portion to the U.S. in 1824 as Oregon Territory and when Mexico ceded the southern territory to the U.S. in 1848, all of Wyoming became part of the United States. Stand and view the wide open space and imagine what it was like in the 1800s.

I was out caching with my brother-in-law from rupert, Id. We did five of the caches NE of Rock Springs. We wanted to get these found before the snow set in. This cache was like at the end of the world. Alot of history at this area. Thanks for setting up this cache. It was high and dry.
