My GPS reported 13.2ft accuracy after 10 minutes of averaging.

Southern Idaho's FIRST! This is an easy stash with an awesome view of Pocatello, Idaho and it's surrounding mountains. There are several roads leading to the stash, I drove to within 100ft in my Jeep. Any decent 4x4 could almost drive right to it. Have fun.

First - Thanx to Dan for replacing the container. It is greatly appreciated that others help to keep these old school caches alive.

Second - Parked at 4600 feet and the cache was at 5700 feet - it was one tough hike of 1.2 miles and I saw a better path when I got to the top - go figure.

Third - my geocaching karma is going great. On the hike up, I decided to skirt the hill and ended up next to the fence line. As I got to within 125 feet of the cache, a ziplock bag with a pencil and notepad lay before my feet - it was totally soaking wet so I threw it in the backpack with the sick feeling the cache was gone. Thanx again to Dan for replacing the container. As I sit in the hotel, I found that this was the original log book for the cache dating back to 2001. I am currently trying to dry out what pages I can and will upload pics of the logs for everyone to see.

Since it was a replacement cache, I helped stock it a little more, dropped a Chooch72 sig train and a TB. Although a tough hike for me, the view of Pocatello is wonderful and worth the climb. Thanx again.

That's quite the mile hike. I thought there were some really nice places to hide a cache about halfway up. =) Thanks for the hide.

Wow what a hike! We started today at 9:05 AM and made the mile + 1000 ft. after 40 min. (Yes I was huffing and puffing and NO I'm not in shape for hunting season yet). hit n miss and I hitched a ride with the wife to Pokey as she had to work here we went cachin'. This cache is part of a puzzle cache located here in Meridian called "The Idaho History Challenge" GC1A9J1. The object is to find all the first year caches planted in Idaho. It may be a long time before I complete it but after this one I know this will be a marvelous adventure. I was a little nervous that this one hadn't been found for so long so I came prepared. I had the wifes rental car so I left it at the bottom but I'm sure my pathfinder would have made it just fine. This was a most enjoyable way to start a few hours of caching before going back home to Meridian. TN L lots SL TFTH dan-da-man

Found while on a trip from Florida. The closest I could drive to the cache was about a mile. There was a fence and sign that prohibited vehicular traffic past that point. My low clearance car couldn't have made the trip anyway. Of course that mile was all uphill.

About two-thirds the way up, I heard light thunder behind me. After studying the clouds, the storm seemed to be moving the other way. I kept going.

Finally reached ground zero. The cache didn't seem to be in its intended hiding place. It looked like it slipped down a bit. After signing the log, I returned it to a more likely position.

At that point, I heard the thunder a little louder. Concerned, I studied the clouds again. They appeared no closer, but I didn't waste any time getting back to the car. It never rained on me during the hike, but it was close.

Thanks for the mini-adventure. SL, TFTC.

With reference to the previous find - we found this one about 5 years ago when I was given my gps unit as a gift. This was my very first cache. We (myself, Mrs Digitizer, my daughter, son and son-in-law and dog) signed the log and took pictures with the disposable camera that was in the cache at the time. It was the start of our geocaching adventure which has been fun ever since. We have met so many good people.

And now as cache #200, I am finally officially logging it.

I wish all other geocachers the same enjoyment as we have had since that day.

Thank you all very much for the experience.

This cache is turning into a regular time capsule with all the swag from 5 years ago. The web page is printed out from the beginning and you can see how the current GC page has changed from back then. The log was a little wet but everything is good. I hiked up from the fork in the road because the cachemobile isn't four wheel drive. According to the GPS it was only .06 miles, but that didn't account for the elevation gain, so it was a good hike up here. Thanks for the cache.

This would have been our first in Idaho, but the wife decided she didn't want to drive the jeep or rather ride with me in the jeep up the hill. So, it remained unfound. Scared the be-jeebers out of her when we started climbing (driving) up the hill. Maybe next time.

good hike, parked below the water tower and hiked up, I think I'm the first to actually hike it.

That is quite a climb in a truck! First to find it this spring/summer. It is still in good shape.

We weren't able to get any closer than a mile, all the roads from town ended at "No Motorized Vehicles" signs. Angry We didn't have the time to hike that far & being from out of state we didn't know if there was any access from the other side and didn't have time to look.

Glad to see this cache is still alive and kicking!! As I posted in 2002, I have moved to Boise and rarely if ever get to visit this one any longer. Thanks to those that keep it in shape and pick up the trash for me.

Happy Caching!
Eric
