One of our main areas of research and pleasure reading is Scotland. Both of us can trace back a good majority of our ancestors to this small but influential country.

My first introduction to Scotland was through my Grandmother, a daughter of Scot immigrants. She spoke with a Scot broque, and when she chose to she spoke Gaelic. This has proven to be somewhat of a mystery to me as the family came from Lanarkshire, Scotland - in the upper Lowlands, not the Highlands. However, I have found her in 1861 living up North prior to her marriage.

Meanwhile, we have amassed a huge collection of links to Scotland and data on Scotland. In addition, I am doing a Meikle - A One Name Study.

Enjoy, and be sure to bookmark our site. We are always adding new data and links!

TARTAN POEM

HERE'S TO IT

  • The fighting sheen of it,

  • The yellow and green of it,.

  • The white, the blue of it,

  • The swing, the hue of it

  • The dark, the red of it

  • Every thread of it!

  • The fair have sighed for it,

  • The brave have died for it,

  • Foeman has sought for it,

  • Heroes have fought for it,

  • Honor the name of it,

  • Drink to the fame of it!

  • THE TARTAN!!
