Shoshone Back Country Horsemen
The Shoshone Chapter was started in March 1993 by Bob Bessler and Bill Brazelton. These individuals became motivated by working with the Shoshone National Forest in improving and developing trailheads west of Cody. With additional help from Marathon Oil Company, who supplied the pipe for the horse corrals and tie racks, this chapter got its roots in developing facitilities where they were badly needed. Over the past 9 years, Shoshone Chapter has partnered with the Shoshone National Forest on numberous trail and trailhead improvement projects. Also during this time, the BLM in Cody partnered with the chapter on the development of four trailheads on BLM administrered lands.
Meetings are held the second Thursday of each month at 7pm, alternating between Powell and Cody.
