Wyoming Back Country Horsemen of America

Concerned Men and Women Dedicated to Conserving Wyoming Public Lands and Protecting Stock Users' Historic Right to Use Back Country Trails and Forage Areas.

Our Mission

  1. To perpetuate the common sense use and enjoyment of horses in America's Backcountry and wilderness lands.
  2. To work to insure that public lands remain open to recreational stock use.
  3. To assist the agencies responsible for the management of public lands in meeting their goals.
  4. To educate, encourage, and solicit active participation in the wise and sustaining use of the backcountry resources by horsemen and the general public commensurate with our heritage and "leave no trace" principles.
  5. To foster and encourage the formation of new state Backcountry Horsemen organizations.

Since 1996, the Wyoming Back Country Horsemen of America have contributed over

$588,820 in volunteer labor on trails, at trailheads,

and through educational programs.
