ANOTHER BIG WYOMING ROCK Boar's Tusk rises 400 feet above the desert floor overlooking the kilpecker sand dunes. It is the core of an ancient volcanoe, a plug or volcanic neck. It is one of two such geologic features in Wyoming, the other being Devils Tower. A great place to see wild horses, antelope, desert elk, Prairie Dogs, Coyotes, foxes. Check with the B.L.M office in Rock Springs for Maps and brochures and travel conditions. Also visit the Sand dunes, and Rock art sites in the area of which there are three major sites. |

Love it! I spent probably 15 or 20 minutes rolling over rocks looking for it until I broke down and re-read the page I printed out and saw that it was in a cave and went straight to it. Very impressive area. Thank you for the hunt. Took knightriders geotoken, left slugbug.

Great cache but even better scenery... A truly amazing sight, and a wonderful hiding place. TN left a geo-fish and a token.

Found this one on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Came up from the south side and didn't find a trail until the last second! Found the cache, then continued around the Boar's Tusk on a circumnavigation of the spires. Had a great time here, then drove up to the dunes to goof off for more of the afternoon. TNLN
Thanks for the cache!!
Hints (Back)
Near the trail on the east side in a cavelike hole with a big rock above the cache.
