For as long as I can remember my family has been coming to this campsite for summer vacation. Then for a while it just went away. Now we're reviving the tradition. I love the Flaming Gorge area. Being an outdoorsman I have just about everything I like right here. This cache is a micro. That shouldn't be a surprise for anyone who knows my caches. It's in a small orange survival cannister just a little bit bigger than a film cannister. I put this cache here so people would see the Firefighters Memorial. Three firefighters died here back in the 70s. This campsite used to be called Bootleg, but was renamed for the firefighters. It's really something to see. You can still tell where the fire was. Now, get outdoors and as always, happy caching! |

Campground closed and gate locked so I hiked from the highway. Good day for a walk. TFTC

Great area. We left Vernal in the dark rain and by the time we made it up here the sun was up - behind clouds - but starting to dry out. Good way to start our second day of vacation. Thanks for the great cache.

I thought this was going to be most difficult, but I found the cache quite quickly. Beautiful area

You'd better reach high on that stone wall. I don't know, it might be behind a rock too.
