New Badges for Identification (10/2007)
The Fremont County Coroner's Office has started the issuing of new badges for deputies in the department. In addition to the photo IDs already issued, these will further establish easy recognition of those authorized to act on behalf of the department under Wyoming Statutes, an important consideration in today's climate of ever-increasing concern
for scene and incident security.
The new badge, manufactured by SymbolArts out of Ogden Utah, is based on the design of the well known patches this office has used for years. The use of feathers on the design is a recognition that the Wind River Indian Reservation has given the Coroner's Office jurisdiction within their borders (the only non-federal agency to have it in that manner). It remains an honor for all our staff to provide service, and respect the ways and traditions of the Native Americans in their hour of need.
