Laramie Kempo Karate Club

- focusing on developing self discipline through the study of the martial arts.

Although we may participate in the occasional tournament, we are not a sport competition club.
We emphasize personal development and personal improvement while providing a good fitness program.

We are affiliated with two organizations:

Lau Hu Kenpo under Master Stephen Blackburn, based out of Virginia

And the Okinawa Kenpo Karate Renmei of America

The OKKRA is under the direction of Grand Master Jeffrey Riggs and the head dojo is in Rockledge, Florida.

Master Amber Travsky

Master Amber Travsky is head instructor for the Laramie Kempo Karate Club, which she started in 1985.
She began her martial arts training in 1973 in Tae Kwon Do before moving to Laramie and studying under Shihan Stephen Blackburn beginning in 1978.
Master Travsky has earned the following ranks:

• 6th Dan Black Belt in Lau Hu Kenpo under Shihan Stephen Blackburn, 10th degree black belt.
• 6th Dan Black Belt in the Okinawa Kenpo Karate Renmei of America, under Grand Master, Jeffrey Riggs
• 1st Dan Black Belt in Tang Soo Do Moo Duk Kwan under Shihan Stephen Blackburn
• 5th Kyu ranking in Tae Kwon Do.

Shihan Amber has earned Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology and Wildlife Biology.
She is former Chairperson for the Wyoming Governor's Council for Physical Fitness and Sport. 
She is a former member, via Presidential appointment, to the President's Council for Physical Fitness and Sport.

Master Rich Travsky

Master Rich Travsky began his training in the Okinawa Te style in the late 1980s.
He has assisted with the Laramie Kempo Karate Club since it began in 1985.
He has attained the following ranks:

• 4th Dan Black Belt in Shoshinkan Karate-Do under Shihan Stephen Blackburn
• 1st Dan Black Belt in Okinawa Te style

Cost:

1 class/week	$15/month
2 classes/week	$20/month
3 classes/week	$25/month

To get started:

For the kids classes, first class is free and pre-registration is not required. Just come!
Adults starting martial arts for the first time are asked to watch one class before joining.
Spectators are always welcome.

and those junior belts who have the permission of Shihan Amber Travsky.

To seek to adjust to every situation, good or bad, which I may meet in my daily life.

Don't permit yourself to show temper, and always remember
when you are in the right, you can afford to keep your temper,
and when you are in the wrong, you cannot afford to lose it.
