Established in 1965, the Sweetwater Gap Ranch is a family owned and operated business, nestled at the base of the Wind River Mountains. We are located 70 miles southwest of Lander, Wyoming and 102 miles northeast of Rock Springs, Wyoming on the Bridger Teton National Forest boundary, directly under the famous Sweetwater Gap. The ranch is 26 miles off the nearest paved road in an area known as one of the best hunting, fishing, and wildlife viewing areas in the state. We have gorgeous views (some people have called the view of Mount Nystrom from our lodge "a million dollar view") and a multitude of wildlife roaming the countryside. We are located one mile from the Sweetwater River which is stocked with brook and rainbow trout.

Drop Camps:
The mountains provide some of the best camping and fishing available in the Winds. We'll take you and your gear to gorgeous Tayo Park where you will have access to Poison Lake, Mountain Sheep Lake, Coon Lake, and Tayo Lake (as well as a lake with no name and stream fishing galore!)

Hunting:
If hunting is your interest, we specialize in seven day elk hunts in areas 99 and 27. We also guide moose hunts in area 30 and deer hunts in area 130. Let our knowledgeable guides lead you to the game!

Day Rides:
If you are planning a vacation in the area or live nearby, make reservations to stop in and take a day ride with us. We'll take you on a scenic ride by the hour, 1/2 day or day. See the gorgeous Wyoming countryside from the top of one of our horses!
